Conditions for obtaining service

  • The license application applicant should be a licensed doctor, or a company or a joint stock company and one of the partners should be a licensed doctor.
  • Public company or institution or association or committee or a charity registered in the Kingdom.

Procedures

  1. Referring to Health Institutions Licensing Department and presenting the letter of opinion of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to establish a hospital.
  2. The letter is audited to make sure if it complies with the regulation of licensing private hospitals” the applicant of the license application is licensed doctor, a company or a joint stock company and one of the partners a licensed doctor, a public company or institution or association or committee or charity registered in the Kingdom.”
  3. Referring to the register of Health Professions and Institutions Licensing Directorate and showing the letter of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to document the letter, and transfer it to the director of the Health Professions and Institutions Licensing Directorate.
  4. The letter is transferred to Health Institutions Licensing Department to prepare the response and providing the applicant with an apology letter in the event of disapproval or a letter of no objection from registering the purpose of establishing the hospital and providing the applicant with the required documents and conditions for the preliminary licensing of the hospital.
  5. Referring to the Health Institutions Licensing Department and filling the licensing form attached with the required documents.
  6. The Health Institution Licensing Department receives the documents and presents them to the committee of private hospitals (each Wednesday of each week).
  7. Preparing a report from the committee and in the event of conditions incompletion the applicant is provided with an official letter to complete the conditions.
  8. In the event of conditions completion, the licensing applicant is given the preliminary approval official letter provided that work does not start before the field inspection.
  9. Submitting an inspection application on the building and the readiness of the hospital.
  10. Inspecting the building location and the hospital readiness to verify the extent of its compliance to the technical and administrative aspects of private hospitals regulation no. 54 of 2014 and its amendments, and assigning the Minister with the approval on temporary licensing for two years (and he has the right to turn the license into permanent after two years of work commencement).
  11. The service recipient receives the license and work commencement approval signed by the Minister.

Required Documents

  1. Official letter of the Ministry of Industry and Trade/ purpose of establishing a hospital.
  2. Copy of practicing of profession certificate if the licensing applicant is a doctor.
  3. Recent building and land plan and location and demarcation.
  4. Engineering plans of the hospital that complies with the conditions of licensing the opening and establishing of a hospital regulation.
  5. The company’s contract and internal regulation of the company.
  6. Copy of the certificate of registration of the plot of land or lease contract.
  7. Copy of commercial register and trade name.
